Shashankasana
( Moon Pose / Hare Pose)
The
word ‘Shashanka’ in
Sanskrit means moon. The
person doing this asana
resembles a moon.
Procedure
-
Sit
on the floor with knees bent as in Vajrasana.
-
Inhale
and raise both hands up.

Bend
slowly from the waist while exhaling.
-
Place
hands on the ground.
-
The
forehead should touch the ground.
-
Remain
in this position for few seconds.
-
Inhale
and slowly raise the arms to a vertical position.
-
Exhale
while lowering arms to the knees.

Precautions
Persons
suffering from high blood pressure, slipped disc and vertigo should
perform this asana only after consulting a Yoga therapist.
