Dhatus
The
dhatus are constituents that comprise the basic structure of the body.
They support various body functions.
They are susceptible to vitiation caused due to the derangement of
any one or all the three Doshas. They
are seven in number :

Rasa
(plasma) : It
contains nutrients from digested material.
It nourishes all the tissues, organs and systems.

Rakta
(blood)
: It provides oxygen to all parts of the body.

Mamsa(
muscle) : It covers and supports all vital organs of the body.
It performs movement of all joints.

Meda
(fat) : It
maintains lubrication of
all tissues.
-
Asthi(bone)
: It gives strength and support to body.
-
Majja
(bone marrow and nerves) : It fills up bony spaces and carries
impulses and maintains function.
-
Shukra
and
Artav (reproductive tissue) : It is responsible for reproduction
and maintains function of sexual organs.
